Metallics Glitter Tape - NEW Sale - A - Bration Pick

Now this sure is a sparkly, shiny card for a new baby! I must admit I wasn't sure what I would do with the new Metallics Glitter Tape - a NEW free Sale - A - Bration pick with a qualifying order but after staring at it for a bit,  I came up with an idea in my head and I think it turned out pretty good.

Are you wondering how I got the tape lined up so nicely as well as the words? Well here is how I did it!

  • I embossed my cardstock using the Stylish Stripes Textured Impressions Embossing Folder by running it through my Big Shot. Now I have this pattern that is perfect for laying the Glitter Tape down and for stamping!

  • I cut the stars from Silver Foil Paper and my Stars Framelits Dies, which by the way, is on sale this week until Feb 29. Check the Weekly Deals HERE
  • The stars needed a little something behind them so I adhered Silver Metallic Thread.
  • Sequins always make a card look spectacular. I used silver from the Metallics Sequins Assortment.
  • I used the Tin of Cards stamp set to stamp Hello Baby in Soft Sky ink.

Card Using the NEW Sale a Bration stamp set Pedal Pusher

As a child and later in my teens, I rode a bike everywhere. That was my means of getting around - unless I wanted to walk. Even though I was never a "good" bike rider, I opted to ride rather than walking. However, I have never ridden a tandem bike. Have you?

This card uses the new Pedal Pusher stamp set from Stampin' Up! which happens to be a Free! Sale - A - Bration pick with a qualifying order. Isn't this bike adorable!

Tips for creating this card:
  • The card base is a piece of Thick Whisper White cardstock cut 5-1/2" x 11" and scored at 4-1/4". I find scoring this thick cardstock helps to avoid crinkles on the edge when folding.
  • Next layer is a piece of designer paper from the It's My Party Designer Series paper Stack. I cut this piece 4" x 5-1/4".
  • The striped piece is from the same designer paper stack - It's My Party and cut 1" x 5-1/4".

  • I used Mint Macaron cut 4" x 2-1/2" to layer with the bike on Thick Whisper White cardstock cut 4-1/4" x 2-1/4".
  • The Sending Smiles sentiment is from Greatest Greetings stamp set. I inked it in Archival Basic Black ink.

  •  I find the Thick Whisper White cardstock the best for watercoloring. I stamped my images - bike, basket and flowers and little bird all in Basic Black Archival ink.
  •  Using my Aqua Painter, I colored the images in Mint Macaron, Marina Mist, Watermelon Wonder, Daffodil Delight and Tip Top Taupe ink pads. Oh, and just a touch of Smoky Slate on the parts I thought should be chrome.
  • Squeeze the ink pad and when you open it there will be a nice ink pallet on the inside cover which is where you pull the ink from with the Aqua Painter.
  • The Crushed Curry Bakers Twine finishes the look which I wrapped around twice and tied a bow!

Easter Lamb Card for Baby Boy and Weekly Deals

My Easter Lamb stamp is getting it's workout in my studio! Did you see my other posts using this stamp - as an Easter card and as a baby girl card? You can scroll through my blog to see them. I LOVE this little lamb. I can't say that enough!

  • My card base is cut from Whisper White Thick cardstock - 5-1/2 x 8-1/2
  • I used strips of Birthday Bouquet Designer Series Paper that were laying on my workbench and adhered them to the front of my card.
  • Next I put a piece of vellum from the Botanical Gardens Designer Vellum Stack from the Sale - A - Bration brochure ( free with qualifying order ) over the designer paper.
  •  I stamped the lamb onto the Whisper White Thick cardstock ( great for watercoloring ) using Basic Black Archival ink making sure to only ink the lamb and not the words Happy Easter. Then I colored in lightly with a blender pen and inks listed below in my supply list.
  • After coloring, I punched the stamped image out using my 2-1/2" Circle Punch. Then I sponged the edges with Marina Mist ink and used dimensionals to adhere to the card.
  • It's a boy sentiment is from A Dozen Thoughts stamp set. After stamping the words, I cut around the them, sponged the edges with Marina Mist ink and adhered with dimensionals.
  • The bow was the finishing touch.
