Button Buddies

Another retiring set from Stampin' Up! A fun and easy card to make. The Whisper White strips are 1-1/2 x 3/4 evenly spaced on a card front. I used Daffodil Delight for these happy little flowers!

I stamped the flower on a  scrap of cardstock in Chocolate Chip ink and punched the center of the flower out with my 1/2" circle punch and used a dimensional to adhere it to the center of the flower on the card. It adds a little dimension and interest. A Early Espresso Bakers Twine bow finishes the look!

Supplies Used:
Button Buddies stamp set - wood mount - 122026, clear mount - 122737

Stampin Up 25th Anniversary Blog Tour: May

Welcome to my blog and the Best of Blog Tour! This tour features the Best of Butterflies. Enjoy my samples and when you are done click the 25 Years of Stampin' Up! icon to take you to the next blog.
Best Of Butterflies Clear-mount Stamp Set

Best Of Butterflies Clear-mount Stamp Set 133345
Price: $14.95
Note: Clear-Mount Blocks B, C, and D needed for this set.

Here we go.......

Using Stampin' Up!'s Designer Series Papers makes designing projects a breeze! The colors were pulled from the paper - Calypso Coral and Lucky Limeade. I mimicked the flower image in the paper by first embossing a piece of Whisper White cardstock with the Square Lattice Folder and then punching it out with 1-3/4" Scallop Punch.

Supplies Used
Whisper White, Lucky Limeade, Calypso Coral cardstock
Calypso Coral ink
Calypso Coral Ruffled Ribbon
Floral District Designer Series Paper
Needlepoint Border Embossing Folder
Create a Cupcake stamp set ( Happy Birthday )
Bitty Banners Framelit
1-3/4" Scallop punch
Square Lattice Embossing Folder

Embossing Folders add so much to a card. I used the Fancy Fan folder on this card leaving space at the bottom to stamp my sentiment. The rounded corners add a bit of softness to the design. I used Sahara Sand cardstock and stamped the butterflies in the same color. I wanted to keep the look soft. The piece of Twitterpated Designer Paper adds just enough color to make it interesting and not boring.

Supplies Used
Sahara Sand and Whisper White cardstock
Sahara Sand ink
Twitterpated Designer Series Paper
Loving Thoughts stamp set
Linen Thread
3/16" Corner punch

This card is a 4-1/4" square embossed with the Perfect Polka Dots folder and Needlepoint Border leaving room on the bottom for ribbon this time instead of a sentiment. Just two colors - Sahara Sand and Primrose Petals. A simple, sweet card to give to someone who needs get well wishes!

Supplies Used
Sahara Sand and Whisper White cardstock
Primrose Petals ink and Core'dinations Cardstock
Stitched Satin Ribbon - Primrose Petals
Teeny Tiny wishes stamp set

Wouldn't you love to receive a gift in this box?! I made a belly band to fit around the Kraft Gift Box so that the recipient can just slide it off to get to the goodies inside without ripping it apart.

The center flower was made using the cupcake liners that come in the Pop-Up Posies Designer Kit in the Spring Catalog.

This butterfly image is soft and lacy looking which is why I used the Doilies. The Daffodil Delight adds that pop of color!

Supplies Used
Kraft Gift Box
Tea Lace Paper Doilies
Pop-Up Posies Designer Kit - cupcake liners, center brad and sentiment
Natural 7/16" Trim Ribbon
Daffodil Delight Seam Binding Ribbon
Epic Day Designer Series paper
Pool Party ink

I hope you have enjoyed my designs. You are now off to Anne Matasci's blog www.MauiStamper.wordpress.com

The Bloomin' Bouquet Kit from Stampin' Up! is so adorable! Watch the video below to see how to assemble this kit.

Here is my vase full of flowers that I put together......

Supplies added - Crumb Cake and Daffodil Delight cardstock, Calypso Coral Bakers Twine

The Bloomin’ Bouquet Project Kit (item 134542) includes the following:
  • 2 sheets of 12" X 12" cardstock featuring 13 preprinted and precut flowers (flower colors: Pool Party, Gumball Green, Calypso Coral, Daffodil Delight, and Rich Razzleberry

Happy Mother's Day to all of the mom's on the tour! This card is for my mother today! There are many different textures going on here. The seaweed or coral imagine - depends on what you want it to be! is heat embossed on the pool party cardstock using white ink and clear embossing powder. The crumb cake piece was embossed with the Woodgrain Textured Impressions Embossing Folder.

After stamping the shell, I cut it out, scrunched it and formed it so that the shell stands out from the card adding interest. My mother loves to collect shells when she is at the beach so this card is perfect for her!

Supplies Used
Wonderful Mother stamp set
Whisper White cardstock
Pool Party Core'dinations Card Stock
Neutrals Designer Series Paper Stack
Pool Party, Calypso Coral , Whisper White Craft and Crumb Cake ink pads
Clear Embossing Powder
Pool Party Seam Binding Ribbon
Pearl Basic Jewels

Favor box using the Two Tags Bigz Die for the Big Shot which is on the Retiring List : (

I stamped the Seaweed image on the designer paper that is wrapped around the box. Do you notice the shell image on the flower? I stamped that on Creped Filter Paper that was punched using the 1-3/4" Scallop Punch. I layered about 5 punched pieces and held them together with a brad. Then it's just a matter of scrunching the paper to form a fluffy flower.

My family is gathering today for Mother's Day celebration and I will be giving each mother one of these little treat boxes. The chocolate by the way is Dove Dark Salted Caramel. Yum-O!

A simple yet striking design. I must say that the lobster reminds me of my childhood. I grew up by the water in Connecticut and we used to go out in our boat almost every weekend. My dad had lobster pots out in the water and I remember hoisting them up the side of the boat and waiting to see if there were any in there. Almost always there were and we would enjoy fresh lobster for our dinner!

Just Thinking of You

I just love when products coordinate. It makes designing cards so much easier! Did you notice the background on the stamp coordinates so well with the background of the card? I used the Square Lattice Embossing Folder.

My Big Shot is one of the most used tools in my stamp studio! I used the Window Frame Framelits to cut out the stamp as well as the background piece. The banners were cut out using the banner framelit which is part of the Hearts a Flutter Framelit set.

Who doesn't love a little bling? The Rhinestone Jewels finish off the card nicely!

Aviary Easel Card

I love Basic Gray and Daffodil Yellow together. If I ever redo my bedroom, I'm going to do it in these colors! Anyway, Aviary stamp set is one that I will miss. It's retiring from the 2012-2013 Stampin' Up! Catalog May 31.

We will be making this card in my Second Friday Class this week. It is an easel card. When closed it measures 4-1/4 square.

This is what it looks like when you open the card - like an easel. The scalloped oval holds it in place.

What a fun way to display a card! CLICK HERE FOR A TUTORIAL ON HOW TO MAKE AN EASEL CARD.

Two Tags Gift Card Box

Today I am sharing another make n' take that we did at the recent Stampin' Up! Baltimore Regional that I attended and wrote about in This Post. This is a little box that was made using the Two Tags Bigz die for the Big Shot. Isn't it sweet? The little gift cards are 2.5 x 5 and the perfect size for attaching to a gift bag or tucking inside a pocket or lunch bag for a little surprise!

It is very simple to do. Cut two of the larger tag on the Two Tags die. These already have score lines so just fold at the score line and attach the two tags together at the bottom. To make the inside box you will need a piece of cardstock that is 2-7/8" x 6-3/4". Score horizontally at 2" and 4-3/4", score vertically at 1/2" and 2-3/8". Crease score lines and cut up score line to fold the box. Adhere with glue dot to form box shape and then use sticky strip to adhere between the two tags.
A simple and sweet little box to place on your desk or to give away. The Two Tags die is on the Stampin' Up! Retiring Accessories List so be sure and order it now before it's to late. This die is a must have!

Clockworks Notepad Fun

I recently attended a Stampin' Up! Regional in Baltimore MD. I was so excited that it was so close to me. Only a car drive and light rail ride away! It's always fun to go to Stampin' Up! events to spend a day with friends and Shelli and staff from the Stampin' Up! home office. They do know how to make it fun!

We always have make n' takes to stamp while we are there and this was one of them.

Isn't this adorable! It's a notepad that we covered. We used the Clockworks stamp set, a set I do not own but will HAVE to get now! It gives a fun vintage feel to the look. I love the color combo as well - Pool Party, Basic Gray, Gumball Green, Calypso Coral and a retiring color, More Mustard.

The flower makes the design look so fun I think. So easy to do by using the Fancy Flower punch. I distressed the cardstock after I punched the flowers and pulled it apart and smooshed it and then put it together with a brad. The button is held in place with a glue dot on top of that.

The little banners are just strips of cardstock that are scored every 1/4" using the Simply Scored Scoring Tool. An easy technique that adds interest to the design.
