This card is one that we made at my recent Stamp-A-Stack class. It's hard to see but it has a couple of different textures going on. The Baja Blue piece was run through the Bigshot on a texturz plate and has raised dots on it. The white piece is a piece of the Taste of Textiles specialty paper. I stamped the flowers right on top and it gave it a really cool look! It almost looks like a hologram - oooo0000. I wrapped a piece of Urban Oasis double sided paper around in place of ribbon for a different look. The circles on the paper mimic the dots on the Baja Breeze card stock. The verse is from the Congrats Sale-a-Bration set. This is a 3x6 card. I love it!

A simple but pretty card for you today! I used the Fun & Fast Notes stamp set which is a versatile set. There are 8 images with words that are suitable for many occasions. I inked the image in Black Stazon ink and stamped it on Confetti White card stock and water colored using an aqua-painter and classic ink colors that coordinate with the strip of Tea Party designer paper. The color's in the designer paper are, Certainly Celery, Pretty in Pink, Basic Gray, Almost Amethyst, So Saffron. The card base is Brocade Blue which coordinates so well with these colors.

Finally a new post for you. I had a busy week and weekend and did not have time to share any samples with you. This week were my stamp-a-stack classes so I will be sharing some of the cards that were made, here on my blog this week. I had a lot of fun with those that attended the classes and I hope that those who attended had fun as well!

Here is a quick and easy card using the stamp set Polka Dot Punches. This set is one of the sale-a-bration items that you can choose FREE with a $50 purchase. Each image in the set coordinates with one of our exclusive punches! Choosing the colors in this card was easy. I pulled the colors from the designer paper I used called Delicate Dots - another sale-a-bration item. The colors in the paper are Certainly Celery, So Saffron, Bashful blue and Sahara Sand. So soft and pretty. My card background is Bashful blue, a piece of So Saffron backs the designer paper. I first inked the hearts in Whisper White Craft Ink and stamped on Bashful Blue, So Saffron and Celery and then punched them out with the Full Heart punch. So easy - no cutting, just punch! To finish the card I used Certainly Celery 5/8" grosgrain ribbon. Stampin' Up! makes designing projects easy with coordinating items.

Bigshot Butterfly

I found this cute little frame while I was out shopping one day and knew right away that I was going to use some of our double sided paper and possibly the Stampin' Up! Beautiful Butterflies exclusive Bigshot die. This is what I came up with. It's very simple. I used a piece of the Bella Birds double sided paper and stamped a verse from Refuge and Strength stamp set. The butterfly is cut from the Bella Birds as well and I used a Glue Dot to adhere right to the frame. This is sitting on the island in my kitchen. I love it. Don't you?!

Altering

This is hanging on a wall in my powder room. Those of you who have been to my house may recognize it : ) I decided to alter the plate a bit and got my inspiration from.......you guessed it.......the Spring-Summer 2009 Catalog!

It looks more interesting now to look at doesn't it?

Here is a close up. I used one of my new favorite sets again Friends 24-7. I cut a circle from Confetti White card stock and half a circle from a piece of Pink Pirouette Textured card stock and layered them together. I stamped on the pink piece using one of the stamps in the set and Pink Pirouette classic ink. I inked the bird and flower stem in Basic Brown ink and water colored and cut them out. Oh, I forgot about the Old Olive piece of textured card stock. I just used a strip of that and distressed it using the distressing tool from the Cutter Kit.

Happy Valentines Day!

Here is a quick and easy project that uses the Full Heart Punch and some double sided paper.

Punch about 16 hearts and fold them in half. The side that you want showing should be folded to the inside. Put some adhesive on the heart half - I used Snail Adhesive.

Stick all 16 hearts together.

You end up with this pretty ornament! About half way in the process of sticking the hearts together, I put a piece of Linen Thread in-between. I finished it off by stringing a pearl and clear beads from the Pretties Kit to hang from the bottom.

Elegant Thank You

Here is a sample for you today that uses the new stamp set Sweet Stems and coordinating double sided paper, Raspberry Tart. For the sentiment, I used one of the new single stamps that can be purchased from the catalog called Elegant Thank You. I stamped the thank you in Rose Red classic ink. The flower stem was inked in black StazOn ink and colored in using a blender pen and Pretty in Pink, Rose Red and Kiwi Kiss classic ink. This is a special fold card and if you would like the directions to make this, please email me dflever@comcast.net and I will send you a link.

Altered Glass Jar

This idea was inspired by a sample in the new Spring-Summer 2009 Stampin' Up! Idea Book & Catalog. I found a glass jar and decided to decorate it similiar to the sample on page 79 in the catalog! I used the new jumbo wheel called Friendly Words and wheeled it on a piece of Confetti White card stock using a Chocolate Chip ink cartridge. Then I tore the edges to give it a distressed kind of look. I mounted that onto a piece of Old Olive textured card stock. If you click on the picture to view it larger, you can see that I sponged So Saffron ink to distress it even further. I embellished with a So Saffron heart punched using the Heart to Heart punch and adhered a button to it from the Button Latte collection. Oh, I also tied a piece of Linen Thread through the button. I love that linen thread! This jar can be used to put a candle in or used on a desk for pens or markers!

Be sure to check out my Stampin' Up! website for a new video showing you some fun projects using the Bigshot die cutting machine and some of our new dies. www.debbielever.stampinup.net

A Pretty Picture

I found these frames at the Target dollar spot. I resisted buying them for a while but then decided I had to have them! They come in a pack of three. I used the Thoughts and Prayers stamp set - one of my favorite in the new catalog. I inked the tree in Chocolate Chip then took my blender pen and wiped off the leaves and using my Old Olive marker, colored the leaves back in. I took a piece of Old Olive card stock and cut it to resemble grass. I used a scripture verse stamp that I had from a retired set and layered that on Perfect Plum card stock. The tree by the way is stamped on Confetti White card stock and using my Aqua-painter and Bliss Blue ink I colored in a background. I have it hanging in my stamp room. By the way, the scripture verse says ~ Be Still and Know That I Am God ~

Think Spring!

That is what I am trying to do - think spring that is. Today is the second day I was out early this morning shoveling snow. It's getting old. I'd rather be cutting the grass! So, today's sample is a card that makes me think of spring!

This is a special fold card. Here it is with a belly band made from the Bella Rose designer paper, to keep it closed and...

here it is open. The base of the card is an accordion fold. The squares are attached on each fold starting with the smallest square in the front. I used Flight of The Butterfly stamp set, Riding Hood Red, Kiwi Kiss and Whisper White card stock, Riding Hood Red, Kiwi Kiss, Pink Pirouette, Basic Black Classic Ink. The small square in the front is attached using a silver brad.
If you have any questions about today's sample, let me know.

Another Valentine Treat

Here is a little box that I made and I must say it was very easy to do! I used Rose Red card stock to make the box and wrapped it with Raspberry Tart designer paper. Does the tag look familiar? It's the same tag that was on the candy bar I posted earlier. It's hard to see but I used the Eyelet Border punch on the edge of the flap which adds a sweet touch. I finished it off with Pretty In Pink ribbon! What's inside? Three chocolate raspberry Ghirardelli chocolates! Yummo! These sweet little treat boxes are great for giving just a "little something" to a friend, a teacher, for a ladies tea party, or birthday party treats to name just a few! If you would like directions to make this box, email me dflever@comcast.net and I will send a link to the directions.

Inspiration for Today

Another great resource that I have as a Stampin' Up! demonstrator comes each month in my mailbox. It's the Stampin' Success magazine just for demonstrators. Inside are not only business but also creative ideas. This card idea was on the front cover and gave me inspiration. I tweaked it a bit. Once again I have used the Fifth Avenue Floral stamp set. The flowers are inked in Not Quite Navy Classic ink and stamped randomly onto Whisper White Textured cardstock. I punched a half circle using my 1- 3/8" circle punch. The polka dots behind the circle is a piece vellum from the Taste of Textiles Specialty Paper. I cut a strip 1- 3/8" wide by 6" long and adhered to the inside of the card. The verse which comes in this set, was inked in Kiwi Kiss and layered onto Kiwi Kiss cardstock. I used Dimensionals to put it in place.

As an embellishment, I used the belt buckle piece from the Styled Silver Hodgepodge Hardware kit and put a piece of Kiwi Satin Ribbon through and put in place with glue dots. Isn't it cute!

I had to show you this picture of my cat Cinder. When I am at my desk she jumps up and makes herself comfortable. It's very difficult for me to work on my laptop when she is laying there purring looking all cute!
