Doily Snowflakes

Every snowflake has its own unique shape and is different than all other snowflakes. My doily stamps remind me of snowflakes so I got them out and used them for this card.

Do you notice the perfect outline around the circle? I do not have that steady of a hand to do that! I learned a new trick. 

Isn't that cool? I can't wait to play around using this technique with other Framelits! 

My card size is 5-1/2 x 5-1/2 which meant I needed to make an envelope for it to fit in so I grabbed my Envelope Punch Board and voila! I had an envelope the perfect size. I used the Season of Style Designer Series Paper to create it.

O Holy Night Christmas Card

Not your traditional Christmas red and green colors for this card but I love to use colors that go outside of the box! The colors were pulled from the designer paper that I used  to make the little banners at the bottom of the card. Love them! This stamp set is one of my favorites from the Holiday Catalog. You could use different colored markers and color in, or cut out some of the words and mount them on top of the stamped image for a 3-D effect.

Christmas Star

I embossed using the Perfect Polka Dots Embossing Folder and then highlighted the dots using a sponge and Gold Metallic Encore Ink. It adds just the right amount of sparkle and gives the card depth. 

For the inside I added a strip of Washi Tape. The dots on the tape ties in with the dots on the outside!

Washi Tape Happy Birthday

Washi Tape is such a cool embellishment! I used it for a boarder piece on this card. So easy to use which is right up my alley! Just a little goes a long way. The colors for the card came from the Washi Tape.  Love Stampin' Up!s coordinating products.

Thankful Tablescape Simply Created Kit

This kit from Stampin' Up! has enough materials to set the mood for 10 dinner guests: napkin holders, table tents, centerpiece wraps and accents. The supplies can also be used for many different projects as well as for making cards which is what I did.

This card was quick and easy to put together because everything was already done for me - almost. I cut the background pieces to fit my card base and then added the elements. I stamped the chalkboard piece with happy birthday, put two dimensionals behind it and placed it on the card. The last element to add was the pre-cut leaf and a bow made from the linen thread in the kit. Voila! I gave this card to my daughter in-law for her birthday. This is also one of the cards we made in my recent Birthday Card Class.

Truly Grateful

In this season of Thanksgiving, I am truly grateful for many things. For family and friends, for those who read and follow my blog, for health, a warm home and most of all to God for his grace and mercies which are new every morning.

Today's sample is a box I created using the Envelope Punch Board. Basically I made an envelope giving it extra score lines to make a box. I will try and get a tutorial up soon. The belly band was fun to make. A strip of Sweater Weather Designer Series Paper, Doily that was sponged with crumb cake ink, crushed curry scrap of cardstock cut to make a banner, Truly Grateful stamped and cut out using the Apothecary Accents Framelits and lightly stamped with a background, just a strip of scrap Sweater Weather paper to accent and cut out of the Maple Leaf Stamp. Of course a little bling doesn't hurt either so I added the rhinestones. Inside the box are four notecards.

I used two different stamp sets to make these - Truly Grateful and Harvest of Thanks. 

I added a piece of Washi Tape to the card and stamped the Grateful using Black Stazon Ink

 Having products that coordinate makes crafting so much easier. The Apothecary Accents Framelits coordinate with the Harvest of Thanks Stamp set - I stamped the thanks and used the matching Framelit to cut it out on my Big Shot. 

To Make the boarder around the cut out image, I cut a piece of Chocolate Chip cardstock to fit the back of the rectangle, then punched two circles using the 1" circle punch and adhered them. It looks like a complete boarder of Chocolate Chip cardstock then!

Gift Tag

Inspiration comes from many different places. A friend who attended one of my classes recently, brought me this tag that she received, to share with me thinking that I would like it for a pattern so that I could recreate it.

 

It is adorable - right? But I knew I could make one even more adorable with my supplies so I got to work and this is what I came up with. 

All I did was measure the original gift tag - I think it was like 3-1/2 x 4-1/4, so I cut two pieces of Soft Sky cardstock to those measurements and cut the top at an angle to make it look like a tag. Then I scored one of the pieces at the top. This is the front of the tag. I used a scrap piece of the Sweater Weather Designer Series paper and stamped my image on a Whisper White layer. I adhered the two pieces together and voila!  I needed a card for my sister's birthday - which was a belated card. 

It really turned out cute. So, you never know where inspiration will come from next! I hope you are inspired to make one of these cute gift tag cards yourself!
