Decor Stencils

I've been playing around with the Kind Thoughts Flourish Decor Stencil. I love it! You will find this stencil in our Decor Elements line. It can be used on the wall or any decorative item as well as cardstock. I stenciled on a piece of Whisper White Textured cardstock. It's so much prettier in person! It looks like a canvas. I laid the stencil over the cardstock and used a sponge dauber in Pink Pirouette Classic ink and dabbed over the stencil. When you stencil, the color is not even. You will have lighter in some spots than others. That adds dimension. I used a half pearl from the Pretties Kit adhering it with a glue dot and stamped a sentiment. My card base is Pink Pirouette. A piece of Basic Gray Taffeta ribbon finishes it off!

I had a small canvas laying around in my stamp room so I thought I could do the same thing I did on the cardstock and made a wall hanging. This is what I came up with.

I added more dimension by stamping my sentiment, punching it out with the Designer Label Punch and using a frame from the Silver Hodgepodge Hardware Kit.

If you are interested in purchasing this stencil, visit my online store by going to my stampin' up! website or send me an email. Stay tuned for more samples using this stencil and the Designer Delight Stencil!

Enjoy Your Day!

I am trying to set up a better system to take pictures so that they are not so dark. Be patient with me as I figure all this out!

Simple, Yet so Pretty

This is a very simple card to put together. The original idea came from my friend Jan Wakeland. Once again I used my Big Shot Die Cutting Machine to cut out the butterfly using the Beautiful Butterfly's Die. The designer paper is from Raspberry Tart collection. I used the Eyelet Border Punch along the edge of the designer paper and the front edge of the Whisper White card base. A little sponging on the edge adds depth. I tied a piece of Pretty In Pink 1/4" grosgrain ribbon around the butterfly to look like antennas. Simple, yet so pretty!

Supplies Used:

Cardstock - Whisper White
Paper - Raspberry Tart Designer Paper
Accessories - Big Shot Die Cutting Machine, Pretty In Pink 1/4" grosgrain ribbon, Eyelet Border Punch, Stampin' sponge (for applying the ink along the edge of the card).

Take advantage of the Buy 3 get 1 FREE Designer Series Paper sale! Only a few days left. Most of these papers will be retired soon so don't miss out on this great deal and a chance to collect our beautiful designer papers! This includes the Walk in The Park paper in the Occasions Mini Catalog as well.

Flower Pot Card

Isn't this the cutest card? I've been seeing these on other blogs and decided to give it a try myself! I love the results. I'll be making more of these that is for sure but I wanted to get this one up on my blog since I have not posted in a few days. Sorry. Life was busy with my oldest graduating from college.

Here is the inside pulled out to reveal a message. This is so easy to make. Here are the directions:
  • Cut a piece of cardstock to 3-1/2 x 9 and score at 2" and 5-1/2 ". Fold the 2" side toward you and the 5-1/2" side away.
  • To make the pot shape, fold the flap up and put your card into your paper trimmer with the 2" score line on the cutting track and the 5-1/2" score line on the 1/2" mark on the trimmer. Cut. This forms the angle of the pot. Do the other side. Fold flap down.
  • I used a glue dot in each corner to keep the card closed. Make sure it is close to the edge so you can insert your piece inside.
  • For the inside piece cut your cardstock 2-1/2 x 4-1/2 and your layered piece 2-1/4 x 4-1/4.
  • For the flowers, I used the Flower Daisies #2 Die for the Big Shot. Any of the flower dies for the Big Shot will be lovely! If you don't have the Big Shot Die Cutting Machine ( yet ), you can use the silk flowers from the Pretties Kit or stamp a flower and cut them out.

Here are the supplies I used for my flower pot:
Stamps - Curvy Verses
Paper - Sweet Slumber Party Specialty Paper
Cardstock - Riding Hood Red, Whisper White
Accessories - Scallop Edge Punch, Riding Hood Red Taffeta Ribbon, Flower Brads, Glue Dots

Here is another card that we made at my Stamp-A-Stack classes last week. The card base is 4-1/4 x 9 and scored at 3-1/2 inches. The top layer is 2-3/4 x 3-3/4 (baja breeze piece) the white piece on top of that is 2-1/2 x 3-1/2. The designer paper is cut to 1-3/4 x 4 inches for the thinner strip and 4 x 3-1/4 for the other piece. I'm trying to go by memory for the measurements ; )

It has been a busy weekend of celebrations. My family celebrated Mother's Day on Saturday and Sunday we went to a picnic to celebrate the Athletic Trainers graduating from Messiah College - our son Adam being one of them. That was a lot of fun. Next weekend is graduation. Wow, where do the years go!

Today's samples are the Mother's Day cards that I gave to my mother and mother in-law. These are two more cards that we made at the recent Stamp-A-Stack. I found poems online to put inside each card. They were a hit!

There just does not seem to be enough hours in a day these days. I've been working on classes and workshops and cutting grass in-between raindrops! I also have two graduations this year. My oldest Adam is graduating from Messiah college with a Bachelor's degree in Athletic Training and my youngest David is graduating from high school. How does that happen! David will be heading off to college in the fall to Maryland Institute College of Art and Adam will hopefully have a job soon! I still have graduation invitations to make before the weekend so I can get them sent. Wish me luck!

Anyway, today's sample is one of the cards from my Stamp-A-Stack class this week. The first class was yesterday morning and I have a class Friday night. Those that registered are making 10 cards. This time I came up with 5 designs and they will make two of each. Each design has two different colors. I'll post one each day. Hope you like them and get inspired to create!
