Bridal Shower Favors
My oldest son Adam is getting married August 24 and this past weekend my daughter and I gave a bridal shower for his fiance Stephanie. It was a surprise. We had planned a mother/daughter lunch at a local tea house ( lie ). I told her that we'd have to make it a late lunch because I had a scrapbook class that I was teaching that day and it wasn't going to get out until 1:30 or so ( I totally lied ). She and her mom were to meet my daughter and I at the house at two. Right on schedule, she walked in the door and SURPRISE!
The colors for the wedding are Night of Navy and Daffodil Delight and used those colors for the favors. Inside the bag is chocolate. Yum-O! When the new Stampin' Up! Catalog came out and I saw these bags in there I was thrilled! They are actually flat bags and I did a bit of scoring and folding to make them into a bag with a gusset. Here is a quick tutorial on how I did that.

Tag
a Bag Gift bags are a fun way to give a treat to someone special. Kraft
bags with White chevron ombre print. Combine these with our Tag a Bag
Accessory Kit and you can't go wrong! * 10 bags, each 5-1/4" x 8-1/4" * Food safe These are the bags I used in the catalog. As I said, they are flat. Great for tucking little gifts into or using for a candy buffet at a wedding or any event. I wanted the bags to have a flat bottom so this is how I did that. I laid the bag on my Simply Scored Tool and scored at 1" and 4" ( ignore the little marker which I did not use as a guide ).
Then turn the bag and score 1" along the bottom of the bag.
Then I used my bone folder to fold all the score lines making it easy to fold.
I opened the bag and stuck my hand in and flattened the the bottom and folded in the sides to make gussets.
I put a piece of sticky strip on each little flap and then folded those down to make the bottom flat.
It's that easy! I did cut a piece of cardstock to about 2" by 3" inches, I think and placed that on the inside bottom to make it sturdy. Fill with candy and decorate the outside and voila!
I made the little flowers using the Creped Filter paper. Folded and punched the paper using my 1-1/4" Scallop punch, then sponged using Daffodil Delight, layered five pieces together and used a brad to hold them together and squished to make a fluffy flower.
I made two smaller ones as well to hang over the gift table which I forgot to take a picture of. Easy diy decor to make for any occasion!

Washi Tape
Washi Tape is a new favorite embellishment that is so easy to use and creates fun projects! What is Washi Tape you might ask? It originates from Japan and is made of paper and feels kind of like masking tape. You can lay the tape down and peel it off if it is not positioned correctly. This is new to Stampin' Up! and of course the patterns we have coordinate with our colors and some of the designer series paper!
I've used the Gingham Garden tape for my sample here. There are three designs that come in this selection. I just laid it across my cardstock and cut the ends flush with the card. I layered the piece on Daffodil Delight and Strawberry Slush.
The color for my flower was pulled from the Washi Tape of course! Daffodil Yellow, Marina Mist and Strawberry Slush. The images were stamped and then cut out using coordinating Framelits. A fun little card to make and sure to put a smile on the person who receives it!
