Flowering Fields Card

Today where I live in PA it is blustery and very, very cold. Windchill's making it feel -2.  We had snow overnight making the roads a little tricky this morning. I was to meet friends early for a birthday breakfast but we decided to postpone. Such a bummer. I can't wait for Spring! I am not a winter girl at all and get so disappointed when plans need to change because of snow or ice.

I thought I would share the card I made to give to my friend for her birthday. I used the Flowering Fields stamp set which is a Free! selection ( with a qualifying order ) from the Sale - A - Bration brochure. There is coordinating Wildflower Fields Designer Series Paper as well. You can view THIS POST to see the details.

Tips for Making This Card
  • My card base is a piece of Sahara Sand cardstock cut 4-1/4 x 11.
  • I stamped all over on a 5 x 4 piece of Elegant Eggplant cardstock  using Whisper White Craft Ink, sponged the edges lightly and then cut the piece at 3".
  • I used dimensionals to adhere the two  pieces onto my card base leaving space between them.

  •  On a piece of Thick Whisper White cardstock, I stamped the flowers multiple times using the Archival Basic Black ink pad. This is a permanent ink which is perfect for a lined image that is to be colored in.
  • Using my Aqua Painter I colored the flowers in Perfect Plum, Eggplant Envy and Garden Green for the leaves.
  • This was layered onto a Sahara Sand piece of cardstock.
  • Before adhering this piece onto the card base, I tied a piece of Wisteria Wonder Seam Binding around it. I was pleased with how the Eggplant and Wisteria colors looked together.

  •  I stamped the sentiment which comes from the Birthday Blooms stamp set and then cut around it, sponged the edges with Elegant Eggplant ink and adhered using dimensionl's.
  • It does not show in my pictures, but I used the Clear Wink of Stella on the flowers which add a little sparkle!
  • I do love how this card turned and think my friend will love it too!
