Paisleys & Posies Thankful, Grateful, Blessed card

A quick and easy card made using the Paisleys & Posies stamp set and coordinating Paisleys Framelits Dies. These two products come together in a bundle with a 10% savings, or they can be purchased separately. I also used a touch of the Petals & Paisleys Designer Paper.

Here are the details:
  • Cajun Craze card base - 4-1/4" x 11", scored at 5-1/2" and folded for the card
  • Very Vanilla cardstock layer - 3-1/2" x 5-1/2"
  • Petals & Paisleys paper - 1/2" x 5-1/2" and adhered to the sides of the vanilla cardstock
  • Ink colors - Mint Macaron, Night of Navy, Delightful Dijon, Cajun Craze, Rich Razzleberry, Soft Suede
  • I stamped three of the images and cut them out using the matching framelit and popped them up on the card with dimensionals
What I love most about Stampin' Up!'s Designer Series Papers, besides the designs, is easily picking a color scheme for my project based on the colors in the paper which of course are our exclusive colors. I just grab my ink pads and cardstock and create!

Paisleys & Posies Card

Create a card  using the Paisleys & Posies stamp set and coordinating designer paper. I added a few other elements to complete this card.

Details:
  • Mint Macaron card base 8-1/2 x 5-1/2 folded in half
  • Petals & Paisleys Specialty Designer Series Paper 5-1/4 x 4
  • Very Vanilla layer 3-3/4 x 5
  • Very Vanilla piece for the sentiment 1/2 x 4 , stamped with Basic Gray ink, sponged edges in Mint Macaron, wrap a piece of Copper Thread around the end
  • I stamped the large paisley using Rich Razzleberry ink and colored in using Mint Macaron, Delightful Dijon and Rich Razzleberry Stampin' Write Markers
  • Leaf image stamped using Delightful Dijon ink
  • I added two rows of washi tape and cut a piece of Petals paper 1/2 x 3-3/4 for the bottom

It's always fun to make the inside look pretty too! I used a piece of washi tape on top of the 3-3/4 piece of Very Vanilla cardstock and stamped the leaf image above a piece of the designer paper cut 1/2 x 3-3/4.

Swirly Bird Stampin' Up! Stamp Set & New Catalog Info

I'm excited to share a NEW stamp set that is in the new Stampin' Up! 2016-2017 Catalog called Swirly Bird. Don't you love that name? There is also a coordinating Thinlits Die called Swirly Scribbles.

The stamp set is sort of whimsical and a whole lot of fun to use! There are different shapes that create not only the flowers on my card but also a sailboat, kite and a birds nest.

I used two new In-Colors for my card - my two new favorite color combinations! Flirty Flamingo and Peekaboo Peach. Don't you love the names Stampin' Up! comes up with?! I've also used a strip of the new Playful Palette Designer Series Paper. The colors and patterns in this paper stack are just gorgeous!

Here is the cover of the new catalog! I can't show you the inside yet - not until June 1. Here are some fun stats of what you will find in this new catalog:
  • 377 new products
  • 458 stamp sets
  • 175 tools & accessories
  • 480 creative samples to inspire you!
  • 212 pages

Botanical Blooms Bundle and LAST of the Weekly Deals!

My card uses the Botanical Blooms stamp set and Botanical Builder Framelits Dies from the Stampin' Up! Occasions Catalog 2016. I used one of the leaves from the Framelits set and one of the stamps to create feathers!

This was not my original idea, but I'll be darned if I can find where I got the idea from. I think the original card was smaller and I made mine a full size card.

  • After the shapes were cut out, I stamped them with the leaf outline and Mint Macaron Ink. I filled in the color using an Aqua Painter and ink. The one leaf I added Bermuda Bay ink color to give some contrast.
  • When the leaves were arranged in place, I stamped the small flowers around them using Crushed Curry Ink.
  • The words Thinking of You, come from my March, Paper Pumpkin Kit. ( Click Here to learn about Paper Pumpkin ). I inked once in Bermuda Bay ink and stamped it three times without re inking.

  •  Mint Macaron cardstock was used for the background and I simply stamped it using VersaMark Ink and one of the leaf outlines from the stamp set.
  • A bow made from Bermuda Bay Bakers Twine finishes the design.

Shine On Speicalty Desginer Series Paper by Stampin' Up!

The Shine On Specialty paper in the Occasions Catalog is so much fun to work with! I must confess that I have had this paper since the beginning of the catalog ( Jan ) and just recently broke open a package and started using it. It is scrumptious!

  • There are 12 sheets to a pack: 2 each of 6 double-sided designs. 12" x 12". Printed on Kraft paper with silver foil designs on one side.
  • It is a heavier weight of paper compared to the designer papers. Very nice to work with and especially great for making boxes!
  • The colors are: Bermuda Bay, Cucumber Crush, Kraft, Silver, Watermelon Wonder
  • The paper is gorgeous.
Here are some fun designs I made:

  •  This layout was cased from Shannon West, a very talented artist at Stampin' Up! With this layout you can use any combination of the designs and it will look great!

  • I added a bit of Silver Thread behind the words which were punched using the 1-1/2" circle punch.

  •  This is the same layout - just different designs and I positioned the words on the side instead of the center.

  •  This design was fun to do. I used my 2", 1-1/2" and 1" circle punches to punch the paper with. The splotchy stamp is from the Timeless Textures stamp set.

  •  This is my favorite because it uses all the designs. A great way to use up scraps of paper!
The words that I used come from Sunburst Sayings stamp set, a perfect pairing with this specialty paper. I have ordered two more packs so that I don't run out, for now and I promised myself I would use it and not hoard it!
