I'm Here!

Sorry I haven't posted in a while. Life just gets so busy. How's that for an excuse?! Here is a sample I created today for my workshop this Sunday. This will be one of the make n' takes. I used an old favorite, Lovely As A Tree.

Now, what is so great about this card is that the leaves sparkle! I used the Shimmer Paint that is in the Holiday Mini Catalog. It adds so much interest to the project! I inked the leaf image in More Mustard Classic Ink and then used a sponge dauber dipped in just a little bit of the Shimmer Paint and dabbed it directly on my inked stamp. Then I stamped it on a piece of Conffeti Cream cardstock. It took my breath away it was so pretty. It's so hard to tell in this picture - you have to trust me.

To complete the card I used Really Rust cardstock for the card base, Taken With Teal for the layer behind the leaves and a piece of Autumn Meadows designer paper which is in the Holiday Mini Catalog. I punched one corner using the ticket corner punch and added a More Mustard brad. I hope everyone at the workshop will enjoy making this card!

Here is a closer view. It's still hard to see the shimmer. Trust me, it's gorgeous!

Deal of the Week

In this sample I've used the beautiful new Medallion Background Stamp. This is one of the make n' takes at my workshop tonight. I've used a brad from the Vanilla Hodgepodge Hardware kit to embellish the center. If you notice, it has a bit of color on it.



I took the brad and smooshed it in a Chocolate Chip Craft Pad the wiped off the excess. The ink gets in the grooves and adds color. Isn't that cool?!

To make this card I stamped the Medallion in Versamark ink and stamped it on Very Vanilla cardstock. Then I took my Stampin' Pastels and a Dauber and colored over the versamarked image. This technique is called poppin' pastels. As you rub the chalk color over the image, it pops out. I used So Saffron for the center and Chocolate Chip for the outside. This is a simple but very effective technique.

Today's sample is a simple card to make and uses once again the Melon Mambo In Color. I gravitate to the color. I just love it! This layout is very simple and easy to do. The black card base is 5 1/2 x 4 1/4. Then I cut a piece of Melon Mambo 4 x 5 1/4 and cut that in half on the diagonal. You then have two half pieces to use. The verse used here is from the On Your Birthday stamp set. A piece of the Dotted Melon Mambo ribbon completes this card!

Busy Summer

I am having a busy summer and do not get to post to my blog like I want. Sorry about that. There are lots of things going on and I'm trying to keep up with it all! I love summer and love all the activities that go with it. Don't you?!

Today's sample reminds me of summer. Isn't it adorable? I think so. My new favorite In Color is Melon Mambo and I've paired it here with one of our 48 colors, Tempting Turquoise.

To make the Popsicles, I used three of our punches. Wordwindow Punch - stick, Large Tag Punch - popsicle, Bite out of popsicle - Scallop Circle Punch. I used the White Gel Pen to highlight the bites and added Dazzling Diamonds Glitter which is a little hard to see in this picture but it does add a lot. (click on the picture to see it bigger) The greeting is from the On Your Birthday set which inked in Melon Mambo and stamped that on Whisper White and punched it out using the new Modern Label punch. The Melon Mambo Dotted Ribbon finishes it off.

Now I'm off to prepare for my Stamp A Stack next week. This card is going to be one of the cards we'll make!

New In Colors

I love the new In Color's Stampin' Up! has chosen to put in the 09-10 Idea Book & Catalog! I say that every year, but this year I especially love them! One thing we have not been able to get in the past are the markers in the In Colors but Stampin' Up! listened to our request and I'm happy to say you can purchase a set of 6 In Color Stampin' Write Markers this year!

This sample uses the new In Color's Soft Suede and Rich Razzleberry. You've got to love the names! Also notice the beautiful polka dot ribbon. Each In Color has it's own Polka Dot grosgrain ribbon as well!

Accessories - Rich Razzleberry 1/2" grosgrain ribbon, designer label punch ( I stamped Thank You on a piece of whisper white cardstock and punched out using the designer label punch. Cut that piece in half and tuck under cardstock ), Scallop Edge Punch - this is currently the Deal of The Week. See yesterday's post for info.

Product Note - there are issues with the new In Color Bermuda Bay ink and refill. These are not available at the moment for purchase. The Cardstock, ribbon and marker were not affected and are may be purchased. I will update you when the ink and refill become available.
